We had a great time...

Our last two days in the UK were spent in Scotland with Sandy, Diana, Ben (3), Sasha (2) and Catriona (6 months) Small. We also got to see Carola (Sandy's mother) on Saturday afternoon, which she spent ferrying us around so that we could see a little bit of the country before we had to leave! We had a great time, mostly just hanging out. (Yes, we flew in and out of Edinburgh, but did not see that beautiful city... we'll just have to go back again.)

For those of you who don't know, Sandy is my oldest friend outside my family - we met when we were in playschool: about the age that Chloé and Ben are now, in fact. Not only are we still friends, but so are our parents. (Take note, fellow mothers - these friendships that we are building can last a LONG time!)

Monday was a rough day. We left for the airport with Sandy at 8am, and arrived home at 10pm (that is 3am UK time). The kids did not sleep enough for my taste on the (three) flights, but considering everything they did well ... and the day was a minor hell rather than a major hell. We were very glad to get home.
