Vacation days...

On Monday after a quick lunch with Uncle Derek (my brother) we took off for Quebec City: Pamela, Randy, Isaac and Graham; Mike, myself and Chloe and Zachary. We spent the night once again enjoying Anthony and Melanie's hospitality, and then in the morning set off for a walk around old Quebec and lunch (poutine Chez Ashton of course!). Pam and I were excited to bump into an old friend from high school in Newfoundland, Kelly Sullivan, who was there with her husband, son, mother and mother-in-law. I had lost touch with Kelly since she came to my wedding more than 8 years ago!

9-month old cousin Graham gets a leg up from his dad Randy.

Once we suspected the kids were ready to sleep, we got in the car and let them nap on the way to Baie-Saint-Paul in Charlevoix. Despite rain on the first night, and below seasonal temperatures, we had a lot of fun camping two nights, spending the day in between on Isle-aux-Coudres.

One of the great views from the Balcon-Vert campground.

The joys of S'mores around a campfire!

Our kids have had few different camping experiences this summer, but it was the first time for Isaac and Graham, and they did very well (waking up a little early, but what else can you expect!!).
