It's not that there has been nothing to say...

Our computer has been on the fritz for the last while, not to speak of a great deal of time away from home, which is why I haven't been blogging lately.

Friday the 15th we celebrated Mariella's birthday party just before taking off for our mothers' group camping trip. Despite the fact that the party took place in a park, Natasha (as usual, she does have a reputation after all) made it picture perfect.

We had a great time camping (luxury camping!) with the mothers' group, which you can check out on Clara and Leo's blog, Mariella's blog, and Anissa's blog. There are even some pictures of my kiddos (sometimes hanging out with other parents but they still are mine!).

We got back on Sunday night (the 17th) and Zach, Coco and I headed off Monday morning to Hanover, Ontario to see my sister's family and my visiting parents. We took the train, and despite a few misadventures, I think it is probably the ideal way to travel with young kids. (Of course, it didn't hurt that I was SERIOUSLY prepared with food and toys!) We met some really nice people, and Chloe made her first purchase on the train (chips). Try to explain to a non-parent just how rewarding it is to see your little girl go up the aisle with a toonie in her fist and tap the lady with the cart to ask for some chips, pick her chips, pay, and bring the change back to mommy. They'll think you're crazy... but I really did swell with pride, expecially later when the train attendant remarked to me how well she did.

Hanover was a lot of fun, despite the time that we went swimming and Zach pooped in the kiddie pool, forcing everyone to get out, and the lifeguards to close the pool for the day. Zach more than made it up to me the next day when we went to an amusement park with waterslides. Chloe wouldn't go on the waterslide, cousin Isaac would only go under great pressure... but Zach LOVED it. Time after time he slid gleefully down to be caught in the splash pool by the guard on duty. It was cool to check out Pam's new house while we were there, and great to grab a coffee with my dad at that great Canadian institution (now owned of course by Americans) Tim Horton's. We also celebrated Isaac's 2nd birthday - here are the kids hanging out with Isaac after the party.

We were very happy to see Mike when he picked us up at the train station on Friday.
(Chloe: Daddy, will you tickle me on the couch when we get home!?) Saturday was a fun day (market, library, and dinner and fireworks with Cyrille and Charmaine) but after our Sunday summer church service on Mont-Royal

we had to go home and pack Mike's bags for his business trip to Denver. The week has been spent in somewhat of an easy-going daze without Mike (too much television) although we've spent some good time with Trina and Anissa, Julie Moisan and baby Jonathan, and Jeongah and Julie Kang (freshly back from Korea). Mike got back last night, and although he's at work today, at least the weekend starts tonight!

My computer (scrathc that, my dad's computer allocated for family use) was on the fritz too. It's nice to be back online now. I've got so much to tell you! I've finally updated, by the way...
